Cher’s The First Time is plain, unbothered, iconic. Amy Poehler’s Yes Please made me miss loud ambition. Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? is the palate cleanser. Jessica Simpson’s Open Book is rawer than I expected. And Kelly Ripa’s Live Wire? Long, rambly — but that chapter on her youngest and becoming an empty nester got me right in the chest. Here's why that gap actually matters 👇 I ran my color analysis two ways this year: 🤖 ChatGPT (free, 5 minutes, a couple selfies) 👩‍🎨 A professional colorist (in person, real fabric, real light) ChatGPT landed me in Warm Autumn. The pro landed me in Dark Autumn. Same season — but "warm" leans into golden brightness first, and "dark" leans into richness first. That one word changes which shades actually make you glow vs. which ones just... don't wash you out. My real results, from the pro: 🎨 Undertone: Warm 🎨 Depth: Dark 🎨 Saturation: Soft 🎨 Contrast: High/medium 🎨 Neutrals: soft white, cream, camel, mocha, chocolate brown, espresso, navy, charcoal, black ✨ Metals: gold, copper, rose gold AI got me in the right neighborhood.
